We at PEOPLE HUNT are hiring a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on behalf of an ambitious, fast-scaling iGaming start-up. In this role, you’ll define and lead the technical direction of a high-load, real-time gaming platform, shaping its architecture, scaling engineering teams, and ensuring reliability, compliance, and innovation at every layer.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the technical architecture and long-term platform strategy.

• Lead and scale cross-functional engineering teams: backend, frontend, DevOps, QA, and game/studio tech.

• Establish microservices and event-driven system patterns optimized for high reliability and low latency.

• Oversee the Node.js / TypeScript backend ecosystem, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and incident response.

• Ensure regulatory compliance, certification readiness, security, and data protection across multiple jurisdictions.

• Drive delivery discipline - planning, estimation, release management, rollback strategies.

• Partner closely with Product leadership to translate business goals into measurable technical execution.

What You Bring

• Proven experience as CTO, VP of Engineering, or Chief Architect in iGaming or other high-load, real-time environments.

• Deep expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, distributed systems, microservices, and message-based architectures.

• Strong understanding of wallet flows, game sessions, RTP/RNG, and operator/platform integrations.

• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka (or NATS/RabbitMQ), Kubernetes, and multi-region cloud scaling.

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (MGA, UKGC, ON, etc.), audits, and secure data practices.

• Demonstrated ability to hire, mentor, and scale high-performing technical teams.

• Balance of strategic vision and hands-on technical leadership.
