Position: Slot Game Mathematician / Slot Balance Designer
What You’ll Do
Design, simulate, and balance slot mathematics that delight players, meet regulatory standards, and achieve commercially proven KPIs.
Responsibilities
Devise complete mathematical models for video slots: pay-tables, feature probabilities, RTP, volatility profiles, jackpots, and max exposure limits.
Build large-scale simulations (100M+ spins) in Python to validate models, stress-test edge cases, and generate compliance reports for labs (GLI, iTech Labs, etc.).
Collaborate with the team to align maths with theme, core loop, and business goals; adjust parameters to hit target GGR, hit frequency, and retention curves.
Perform competitive teardown of market-leading titles, extract insights on why they succeed, and translate findings into new concepts or balance tweaks.
Analyse live performance data, compare against forecasted curves, and recommend tunings that optimise both player experience and operator revenue.
Requirements
2+ years in slot mathematics or equivalent quantitative role within released real-money or F2P slots.
Hands-on participation in at least two commercially successful slot projects (e.g., top-ranked on SlotCatalog or GGR > $1M in the first 90 days).
Strong command of probability theory, combinatorics, and statistical inference; ability to explain complex math to non-technical stakeholders.
Proficiency with Python (NumPy, pandas, SciPy or similar) for simulations and data analysis.
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (MGA, UKGC, etc.) and responsible-gaming constraints.
English B2+ for documentation and cross-team communication.
Nice to Have
Experience building automated dashboards (SQL + BI tools) that track live KPI drift against model baselines.
Familiarity with progressive jackpots, crash mechanics, or innovative reel formats (e.g., Megaways, Infinity Reels).

Part-time or contract format is acceptable, provided availability aligns with milestone reviews and critical simulation passes.
